The company started in February 2021 allowing employees to work from "anywhere," be it an office, coworking space, or fully remote. The vast majority of the applications were for roles based in New York and Boston, though Spotify also had submissions for jobs based in other US cities including Miami, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. It included wages from 133 foreign-labor-certification applications that were submitted by Spotify and certified between Octoand December 31, 2021. The public data revealed how much Spotify offered to pay foreign staffers it sought to hire in the US for some jobs including engineering, data, and marketing roles. Insider analyzed disclosures released by the US Office of Foreign Labor Certification for employees on work visas to shed light on what Spotify pays for certain roles. Spotify has in recent years offered six-figure salaries for some similar roles, public data showed. The listings included openings for engineers, research scientists, and associate product marketing managers. Spotify had on March 17 listed 608 open positions on its jobs board, including nearly 350 available to US-based staffers or remote workers in the Americas. The streaming-music service grew its global workforce by 18% year over year to 6,617 full-time employees by the end of 2021, the company reported in February. But they're not the only talent it's signing. Spotify has become the home to heavy podcast hitters including the Obamas and Joe Rogan.
